Hungerit completes HUF 1.7bn development project

Hungarian poultry company Hungerit has completed the construction of a new poultry logistics system worth HUF 1.7bn at its facilities at Szentes (SE Hungary). The investment was carried out with a HUF 250m grant from the European Union and the Hungarian government, said Jozsef Magyar the CEO-president of Hungerit.The development project started one and a half years ago, created a system meating animal protection requirements and has helped the improve the quality of the products of the company. Hungerit, with a turnover of HUF 45bn, is the biggest employer in the region, it produces high added value products, helps with employment in the countryside and improves the market access conditions of smaller firms, state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Gyorgy Czervan said. According to Gyorgy Czervan Hungerit employs more than 1,500 people and indirectly gives jobs to at least as many as that.
