Hungary farm minister meets with Israeli counterpart

uaHungarian farm minister Sandor Fazekas met with his Israeli counterpart Uri Ariel in Budapest, the Agriculture Ministry said. The sides agreed on cooperation in the area of research and development, including the exchange of experts and a partnership between institutes in Hungary and the Volcani Centre, a farm research facility in Israel. Mr Ariel proposed making five scholarships at the centre available to Hungarian university students. He also suggested the possibility of establishing a model farm in Hungary that uses Israeli irrigation and greenhouse technologies. Mr Fazekas requested that a delegation of Israeli animal health authorities come to Hungary to accelerate the process of clearing locally raised beef for export to Israel.
