Half of Hungarians seek greater job security post-pandemic

igHalf of Hungarians say they desire or expect greater job protection after Covid-19 has passed, according to a survey by staffing company Randstad.

In the whole of Eastern Europe, 39pc of respondents said increased job security would be important after the pandemic.

The survey, conducted in Q4 2020, shows 11pc of Hungarians have a significant fear of losing their jobs, up from 5pc a year earlier. That rate is under 5pc in the food and telecommunications industries, but as high as 25pc in the automotive industry.

Around 59pc of Hungarians desire or expect salary protection, a little under the 64pc rate for all of Eastern Europe.

About 8pc of Hungarians said they were prepared to take a pay cut to keep their jobs and 14pc said they would work longer hours for the same remuneration.
