German packaging and logistics company Deufol is building a HUF 7bn base in Debrecen (E Hungary), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto announced.

Hungary’s government is supporting the investment, which will create 120 jobs, with a HUF 1.4bn grant, Mr Szijjarto said.

Juergen Hillen, the managing director of Deufol Group and Deufol Hungary, said the base would be constructed on a 15-hectare plot in an industrial park in the south of the city. Construction will start before the end of July, he added.

The investment in Debrecen is one of the largest in Deufol’s history.
