Hungary does not wish to enter into a new loan agreement with the IMF

Hungary will close its existing credit agreement with the IMF and the EU in October and November, but does not intend to sign a new agreement, Mr Matolcsy said. Setting a date for eurozone entry is not on the agenda, but Hungary made a commitment in 2004 (when joining the EU) to adopt the euro, therefore, it will do so, Mr Matolcsy said, answering a question. The minister also announced that the national asset management company, designed to acquire and manage the properties of borrowers defaulting on their mortgage payments, will be set up on October 15.
