Co-op Hungary revenue set to reach HUF 540 billion in 2012

Hungarian supermarket chain Co-op Hungary expects turnover to reach HUF 530 billion – 540 billion this year, up from HUF 510 billion in 2011, said CEO Laszlo Muranyi.

Turnover was up 4 percent in the first half from the same period a year earlier, and the pace is expected to be maintained in the second half of the year, Mr Muranyi said. The some 3,000 Co-op stores in Hungary had sales of HUF 300 billion – 310 billion last year, but Co-op supplies a further 2,000 stores that do not operate under its brand.
