The Commission extends its deepest sympathy to the families of those killed, as well as to the authorities of their home country and to the African Union. „The Commission condemns in the strongest terms this act of violence in the Somali capital. It reiterates its full support to AMISOM which is playing an indispensible role in helping to stabilize the security situation on the ground”, he said. He added that, „The Commission will continue to do all in its power – along with EU Member States the United Nations and with the rest of the international community – to support the process of continued political reconciliation in Somalia.”
