The tender would be held in weekly bidding rounds, the first of which had a deadline of June 30, the Journal said in its latest edition. The tender will expire on December 16. The tender was justified by the lengthy period of time that the maize had been stored, from harvests conducted before 2007/08, as well as current maize prices in Hungary, the Journal said according to the report.
