Crop prices rose 12.0pc during the period. Grain prices were up 14.7pc, well under the 26.6pc increase in the previous month, and industrial crop prices jumped 27.0pc. Potato prices fell 36.9pc. Fruit prices rose 6.4pc. Livestock and animal product prices climbed 15.9pc. The price of cattle for slaughter jumped 49.0pc, hog prices were up 16.5pc and poultry prices increased 16.2pc. Egg prices were little changed but the price of milk was up 12.6pc. In January-October, farm gate prices rose 23.5pc from the same period a year earlier. Crop prices were up 28.9pc, including a 42.6pc rise in the price of grain, and livestock and animal product prices increased 14.4pc.
