Farm gate prices in Hungary fell 13.2pc year-on-year in December, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said. Prices of crops fell 20.1pc, because of the improved harvest, while prices of livestock and animal products edged up 0.1pc. For the whole year 2013, farm gate prices were down 7.8pc. Crop prices were down 13.7pc and live animal and animal product prices rose 3.4pc. Grain prices were 29.0pc lower in December. Prices of industrial crops were down 16.8pc, including a 22.4pc drop in the price of oil seeds. Potato prices rose 11.9pc. The price of fresh vegetables rose 5.6pc and fruit prices were unchanged. Live cattle prices dipped 21.7pc, hog prices edged up 0.3pc and poultry prices were down 5.1pc. Egg prices fell 10.7pc and milk prices increased 14.8pc.
