Magosz takes more than 88pc of vote in ag chamber election

County delegates supported by farm association Magosz took 88.3pc of the vote in National Agriculture Chamber (NAK) elections on Friday, the chamber’s head said at a press conference.Farm association MOSZ – backed by Hungary’s leftists parties – took 11.7pc of the vote, said Balazs Gyorffy. A little more than 13pc of the chamber’s 360,000 members cast their votes in the election, he added.

Magosz chairman Istvan Jakab said the delegates supported by Magosz had been picked with the cooperation of 17 professional organisations representing not only agricultural production, but processing and commerce, too.

Hungarian farmers clearly voted for the successes of recent years, solidarity, and consistent and continued rural support in the election, the Agriculture Ministry said after the election results were announced.
