Budapest, Shanghai sign cooperation agreement
The agreement envisages inter-city cooperation in culture, education and tourism, including closer links between the art festivals organised by the two cities. Under the agreement, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Tongji University will develop more intensive cooperation, especially in environmental protection. Budapest Mayor Istvan Tarlos visited China in June to sign a sister-city agreement with Beijing and agree on closer cooperation with Shanghai.
