Haribo gets HUF 800m state grant to expand Hungary plant

Construction work, which will double the production hall at the unit has started and is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2013. The company said it plans to increase headcount but did not reveal to the paper how many new jobs will be created through the project or how capacity will increase.
Haribo Hungaria started production in 2002, increasing output to more than 10,000 tonnes in 2006 from 1,550 tonnes in the initial year, the paper said. The company sells 30pc of its output on the domestic market. Exports rose to HUF 5.357bn last year from HUF 4.674bn in the previous year, the paper said.
