European Union funding is covering one-quarter of the cost of the investment which will give the plant capacity to produce 3.000 tonnes of whey powder a year, Mr Koller said. The investment is expected to add HUF 500m to annual revenue and HUF 200m-300m to profits, he added. Tolnatej had revenue of HUF 18bn in 2010, HUF 1bn more than in HUF 2009. It purchased about 145m litres of milk from farmers. Tolnatej expects to start selling the whey powder in the spring of 2012. The dairy company spent about HUF 4bn on developments between 2006 and 2010.
