Tunisia receives bids in durum wheat tender
The offer was said to be for Mexican origin for March 10-20 shipment. Mexico is a durum exporter although it is a major importer of other grains. The lowest bid for at least 25.000 tonnes of feed barley also sought was $319,87 a tonne c&f, traders said. A new purchase tender had been expected following unrest in Tunsia, partly due to high food prices. This is the first grain tender released since unrest began. Traders said the shipment dates requested indicated 100.000 tonnes of durum and 50.000 tonnes of barley could be bought.
