Ukraine harvest will top 40 mln tonnes

First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Klyuyev (on the photo) told a cabinet meeting: „Today, the main thing is bringing the crop in on time. Despite drought, Ukraine has had quite a good harvest of early grains. „The total harvest of all grains is expected to be more than 40 million tonnes,” Klyuev said. Analysts have forecast a grain crop at about 43 million tonnes for 2010, down from 46 million tonnes in 2009. APK-Inform agriculture news agency said last week that as of July 28, Ukrainian farmers had harvested 22.8 million tonnes of grain, including 14.2 million of wheat and 7.8 million of barley.
