World Bank approves loan to Hungary
The eight-and-a-half year loan is aimed at helping Hungary weather the global economic and financial crisis. The credit was extended to support fiscal reforms, a “financial stability program” and pension reforms “and aid in cost containment and deficit prevention in the health sector,” the Washington-based development lender said. The World Bank had promised the loan as part of an EUR 20bn international package announced last October.
