Coca-Cola Hungary unit launches mineral water exports to Croatia
The Hungarian unit of Coca-Cola launched export production at its bottling plant in Zalaszentgrot, in the west of the country. Coca-Cola HBC Magyarorszag will export 10m litres of Bistra brand mineral water bottled at the plant to Croatia, said managing director Nikos Kalaitzidakis. State secretary for foreign trade Peter Szijjarto said the move would double Hungarian mineral water exports. Mr Kalaitzidakis said Coca-Cola had so far accounted for 90pc of Hungarian soft drink exports, worth about HUF 20bn. Coca-Cola completed a HUF 700m capacity expansion at the plant, which also turns out the NaturAqua brand. The project was supported with a HUF 210m European grant. Coca-Cola started bottling at the plant in 2002, after completing a HUF 12bn investment.
