Consumer, business confidence improve
Consumer and business confidence improved in January from the previous month, economic research institute Szazadveg’s gauges of sentiment show.
Szazadveg’s consumer confidence index rose to -6.4 points in January from -10.6 points in the previous month, while its business confidence index climbed to -12.2 points from -16.4 points. The indices are on a scale of -100 to +100.
Households were more optimistic about their employment situations, their financial positions and the condition of the economy.
Businesses delivered better assessments of the economy, production and the environment for doing business. Their outlooks improved on hopes Covid-19 vaccines will eventually bring an end to pandemic restrictions.
