Court allows Bige Holding artificial fertiliser plant to resume production
The Court of Debrecen has deferred the decision of Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok County Disaster Management Directorate to suspend the operating licence of Bige Holding’s artificial fertiliser plant in Szolnok (C Hungary), which could result in production continuing this week – or not? What is the truth about Bige Holding and owner Laszlo Bige?
Bige Holding confirmed that the regulatory decision on the suspension of their operating licence for the plant has been delayed and welcomed it as it could reduce damages to its employees and business partners.
The lawsuit about the legality of the Disaster Management Directorate’s decision to suspend the operating licence is still ongoing.
The operating licence was suspended in the first days of June because of alleged repeated compliance failure.
Owner Laszlo Bige was the second richest Hungarian behind OTP head Sandor Csanyi on Napi.hu’s list between 2013 and 2017 before slipping to the fifth place with wealth of HUF 220bn in 2018 and HUF 170bn in 2019.
