Gyulahus turnover climbs 13pc in 2018
Revenue of Gyulahus, a meat company owned by the local council of Gyula (SE Hungary), rose 13pc to HUF 6.5bn last year, managing director Zsolt Daka told.
Export revenue came close to HUF 1.1bn, Mr Daka said. Gyulahus sells its sausage products in the UK, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Romania and even in Hong Kong, he added.
Gyulahus’s production volume climbed 9pc to 5,300 tonnes last year. Pre-tax profit doubled, nearing HUF 550m.
This year, Gyulahus targets revenue of around HUF 6.8bn, Mr Daka said, adding that input prices are an uncertainty with a view to increased demand for European pork because of an outbreak of African swine fever in China.
After-tax profit is set to reach HUF 300m, he said. Gyulahus employs 320 people.
