Hungary March trade surplus revised up to EUR 840m in 2nd reading

The surplus compared to EUR 600.9m a year ago. March exports were revised up EUR 51m to EUR 7.279bn of exports and imports were upped EUR 12m to EUR 6.439bn from the first reading published on June 10. March imports rose 18.4pc in euro terms and rose 13.1pc in volume terms from a year earlier. Imports rose 16.1pc in euro terms and rose 11.7pc in volumes. The pace of both exports and imports growth dropped from February, and the gap between exports and import growth narrowed. Q1 exports reached EUR 20.022bn, rising 23.5pc in euro terms and up 18.1pc in volume terms over Q1 2010, KSH said. Imports, at EUR 17.951bn, were up 21.7pc yr/yr in euro terms and rose 16.0pc in volume terms from a year earlier. The Q1 trade surplus widened to EUR 2.071bn, the revised figures show. It was EUR 1.457bn in Q1 2010. The trade surplus for 2010 was EUR 5.525bn, up from EUR 3.74bn in 2009.
