Meat company Debreceni to shut down plant

The plant is expected to close in the middle of March. The decision was made mainly because of the drop in consumption as well as the fall in the number of consumers willing to pay the price of higher quality products, Mr Szucs said. DCSH will lay off 86 workers at the plant. DCSH has two other plants in Hungary – in Szolnok and Bekescsaba – where 400 people work. DCSH shut down plants in Debrecen and Mosonmagyarovar last year. Slovakian investment company Penta acquired DSCH in 2008.
