Prime Minister Orban nominates cabinet ministers
Prime Minister Viktor Orban has submitted the nominations for his ten-member cabinet, Prime Minister’s Office Press Department Director Bertalan Havasi informed, referring to a letter that Mr Orban sent to parliamentary Speaker Laszlo Kover.Mr Orban nominated the following people to serve as ministers in his new cabinet: Zsolt Semjen as minister without portfolio; Janos Lazar as minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office; Mihaly Varga as national economy minister; Tibor Navracsics as minister of external economy and foreign affairs; Sandor Pinter as interior minister; Csaba Hende as defense minister; Laszlo Trocsanyi as justice minister; Zoltan Balog as human resources minister; Sandor Fazekas as agricultural minister; and Miklos Sesztak as national development minister. Eight of the ten nominees served in Prime Minister Orban’s cabinet during the previous parliamentary cycle, while Laszlo Trocsanyi, a former embassador to France, has been nominated to replace Tibor Navracsics as justice minister and Miklos Sesztak, an MP of the minor government alliance party KDNP, has been nominated to replace Zsuzsa Nemeth as national development minister.
