Romania reaps 9 mln T maize in 2010

Romania, which ranks first in terms of sown acreage in thebloc, had originally expected to reap 9,4 million tones from a 2,3 million hectare acreage against 7,9 million-tonne production in 2009. „Harvesting is almost complete with around one percent ofacreage outstanding. But the final crop figure is 9 million,” an agriculture ministry official handling crop data said.
