Ten-month fiscal deficit confirmed at 82.2pc of full-year target
Hungary’s central government – the general government, excluding local councils – had a ten-month cashflow-based deficit of HUF 809.6bn, reaching 82.2pc of the full-year target, the National Economy Ministry said, confirming a first reading released on November 6. The central government had a HUF 35bn cashflow-based surplus in October following a September plus of HUF 14.2bn. The ministry confirmed that the deficit target for the full year remained 2.9pc of GDP, calculated according to European Union rules. Based on the cashflow figures, the target could safely be met, it added.
