Two news from Mr Orban
Buzakalasz 66 Felcsut inaugurates HUF 350m hog farm – Farmer inaugurates 3.5-hectare cattle ranch
Buzakalasz 66 Felcsut inaugurated a HUF 350m hog farm in Banyavolgy, near Budapest, on Tuesday. Buzakalasz will raise 200 Mangalitsas, a Hungarian breed distinguished by its curly coat and prized for its marbled meat, on the farm. Managing director Beatrix Meszaros said the company plans to renovate another hog farm with HUF 600m of its own resources. Prime Minister Viktor Orban participated at the ceremony. He said the Mangalitsa breed was a source of great pride among Hungarian livestock farmers, adding that the country’s stock of hogs should be raised to 6.5m – a level last seen a century ago – from just over 3m at present. The farmer Janos Flier inaugurated a 3.5 hectare cattle ranch in Felcsut, near Budapest, on Tuesday. Mr Flier won a HUF 430m European Union and state grant for the farm, which has two 1,500sqm barns. Prime Minister Viktor Orban participated at the ceremony. In a speech, Mr Orban acknowledged the importance of foreign investment but said celebrating the success of local SMEs, especially family-owned companies was „closest to one’s heart”.
